Join us in Paris on February 26th

Join us at INFOX sur Seine 2026 for the closing event of PROMPT, the second edition of the European Narrative Observatory on disinformation. This morning session will bring together AI scientists, academics, journalists and policy-makers to present and discuss findings from the Observatory, as well as to discuss the hard questions of the future of the fight against disinformation.
PROMPT has leveraged AI to detect narratives that slip past conventional monitoring tools. We've been analyzing patterns across media outlets, social networks, and Wikipedia in eight languages, focusing on three critical areas: the war in Ukraine, LGBTQIA+ rights, and the 2024 European elections.
An opportunity to engage directly with the research team, see the disinformation-tracking tools in action, and discuss how this work can support those fighting disinformation in Europe.
Welcome coffee
Opening remarks from the European Commission - The European Narrative Observatory (PROMPT and SPINE projects) in the context of the European Democratic Shield.
Testimony 1: Inside the Russian disinformation machine
Roundtable 1: The costs of disinformation (or how to build an anti-disinfo industry) - What we know about the costs of disinformation, what putting our money where our mouth is means when fighting disinformation, and how AI might help.
Testimony 2: Decoding the Digital Age
Coffee break
Roundtable 2: A whole-of-society approach for the European Democratic Shield: wishful thinking? - "Whole-of-society" is a buzzword but may remain wishful thinking when building an alliance of 'unlikely partners' using a shared grammar and workflows to fight disinformation.
Product showcase: Wikipedia and disinformation risks during elections: introducing the Wikipedia Sensitivity Barometer - Wikipedia is a target of, and a shield against disinformation. We introduce the Wikipedia Sensitivity Barometer to help flag information manipulation attempts, with findings from the French and Moldovan elections.
Roundtable 3: 'Rogue for good': shaping counter-propaganda in democratic contexts - Analysis is needed, but so is action. How do we support ethical counter-influence and influence operations in liberal democracies?
Closing Remarks: Winning the fight against disinformation.
